Amanda Raymond plays the part of Kimberly Pearson, Kevin's wife. When Amanda walked into the audition I was taken back a bit by her beauty. She was very young at the time. Only eighteen. The part she was reading for required the actress to be about 25. She blew me away with how good her reading was. The best part about Amanda and her acting is her ability to take direction. I would give her a new way to look at a scene and a relation and the emotions were just there. She's great and continues to act locally in stage productions here in Syracuse, New York. I got the chance to work with her one more time in a short film called DNA. This time I was acting.......
Joe was one of those 11th hour replacements you hear about. He was brought in under the suggestion of Paul Cook. Joe was so great with the time he had to prepare on this character that I wouldn't ever to hesitate to work with him again. He's awesome and places very subtle attributes to his character. Joe is also a drama teacher and director. He's done a number of stage plays both directing and acting for The Talent Company here in Syracuse. Since I shoot a lot for the Talent Company it gives me a chance to see Joe occasionally. I love to watch him act. The guy's good.
John LaCasse plays Dr. Ronald Jefferson. A UFO expert
who believes Kevin about his experiences and tries to
help him get to John was also a later replacement in the movie. The one thing in this movie that was a greater enemy than money was time. Whether it was time that didn't conflict with the actors, or time when I wasn't working several jobs to pay for the film and my living expenses. The actor who was originally slated to play Jefferson felt he just didn't have the time to commit to the project. John was great, offered up his house for shooting, got me an mri scan for a shot, juggled hours and his sleep schedule for me and still put in a good performance...A few times the performance actually matched exactly what I had imagined even though the part was written for the other actor. Now I can't imagine anyone else playing the part....
